A non-classical couple stress based Mindlin plate finite element framework for tuning band gaps of periodic composite micro plates

چکیده

Composite micro plates with periodic microstructure at very small length scale have been a focus of intensive research. When the descends below millimetre level, size effects may emerge. To account for effect on elastic wave band gap microscopic composite plates, we propose numerical framework based modified couple stress theory elasto-dynamics associated non-classical 3-node triangular (T3) Mindlin plate finite element. Since incorporates dependence material length, proposed approach is sensitive to problems while remaining compatible macroscopic problems. In terms element implementation, implemented T3 9 nodal degrees freedom under kinematics assumptions. The presents enhanced flexibility discretize complex microstructures owing topology, and offers sensitivity Therefore, it represents good option design plates. Validation performed through comparison both analytical models.
